NEOSHO COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Ronald Keith Bigpond and Richard Thomas Standridge, both of Chanute, Kansas, have been identified as the victims in an early Saturday motorcycle crash in Neosho County.
Bigpond, 52, and 47-year-old Standridge, were both killed in a motorcycle crash near Chanute Saturday after midnight.
According to reports, Bigpond was operating a motorcycle with Standridge as his passenger in Chanute, when for unknown reasons, the bike crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 12:30 a.m. Saturday. The bike then traveled across a set of railroad tracks and rolled over.
Both riders were pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
