HARRIS COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Tristan Sanders, a star freshman athlete at DeSoto High School, has been identified as the victim in a two-vehicle crash in Harris County overnight.
Sanders, 16, a standout Eagles football player, was killed in a crash early Friday in Houston.
According to reports, Sanders was traveling as a passenger in a BMW on State Highway 6 near Loch Katrine Lane in Houston, when the vehicle came into contact with a Hummer H2 around 2:30 a.m. Friday.
The force of the crash halved the BMW.
The driver and the front-seat passenger of the BMW were transported to an area hospital in serious unknown condition.
The driver of the Hummer was not seriously injured in the crash. That driver was charged with driving while intoxicated.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
