DORCHESTER COUNTY, MD. (THECOUNT) — Larry David Ross Jr, of Easton, Maryland, has been identified as the victim who died Friday after fleeing from a traffic stop in Dorchester County.

Ross, 37, fled a traffic stop on-foot and was later found in “medical distress,” on Friday afternoon in Cambridge, according to arresting officers.

According to officials, police were conducting a traffic stop over an alleged equipment violation on Route 16 near Chesapeake Street in Cambridge, when for unknown reasons, Ross exited the vehicle and fled the scene around 1 p.m. Friday.

Police eventually located Ross who was taken into custody without further incident near Cambridge-South Dorchester High School.

A short time later, Ross requested a drink of water while “sweating profusely,” according to police.

Ross was subsequently transported to a nearby hospital where he later pronounced dead.

Ross’ cause of death has not yet been provided by officials.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
