SUSSEX COUNTY, VA. (THECOUNT) — Jeffery J. Hinchey, of North Chesterfield, VA, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck in Sussex County Saturday night.
Hinchey, 55, was killed after he was struck near Stony Creek Saturday night in the area of Big Pig Bar B Q.
According to Virginia State Police Hinkley, was on-foot, pushing a bicycle on Route 301 near Halifax Road in Stony Creek, when he was struck by a passing vehicle around 10:30 p.m. Saturday.
The female driver remained on-scene and fully cooperated with police.
Hineley was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
No one was cited at the scene.
The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
