NEW YORK, NY. (THECOUNT) — Simon Tavarez of Corona, New York, has been identified as the victim in a motorcycle collision in The Bronx early Wednesday.

Tavarez, 25, was killed in a Wednesday morning motorcycle crash involving a vehicle near Soundview.

According to reports, Tavarez was operating a motorcycle on White Plains Road near Bruckner Boulevard in The Bronx, when a Toyota Corolla came into rear-end contact with the bike around 4:45 a.m. Wednesday.

Tavarez was dragged an unknown distance after becoming trapped underneath the vehicle.

Tavarez was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.

No one was cited at the scene and the driver remained and cooperated with police.

The cause of the deadly incident remains under investigation.
