WARREN COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — Derrick Lemond Davis Sr, of Vicksburg, Mississippi, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Sunday night vehicle crash in Warren County.
Davis, 39, was killed in a single-vehicle crash near Vicksburg Sunday night.
According to reports, Davis was operating a Mercury Cougar on Gibson Road near Lee Road, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 11 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle then came into contact with a substantial tree.
Davis was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
