WOODWORTH, LA. (THECOUNT) — Frank Hooper, of Pineville, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal bicycle-versus-auto collision in Rapides Parish Sunday afternoon.
Hooper, 77, was operating a bicycle on US 165 when he was fatally struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon.
According to reports, the bicyclist was traveling on the shoulder of U.S. 165 near Booker Fowler Road in Woodworth, when for unknown reasons, he traveling into the path of an SUV Sunday around 1:30 p.m.
Hooper was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
