ST LOUIS COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Donovan Jones, of Saint Louis, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a single-vehicle crash in St. Louis County Monday night.
Jones, 22, was killed in a single-vehicle I-270 crash in Ferguson Monday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jones was operating a vehicle on the Interstate 270 ramp near New Halls Ferry Road and Pershall Road in Ferguson, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 2 a.m. Monday. The vehicle then came into contact with a electrified utility pole and burst into flames.
Jones was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt trauma and thermal injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
