POLK COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Robert Allen Caperilla Jr, of Winter Garden, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Sunday afternoon single-vehicle crash in Polk County.
Caperilla, 38, was killed in a late Sunday afternoon single-vehicle crash that also injured a woman and three children near Lake Wales.
According to reports, Caperilla was operating a Chevrolet Trailblazer on South Scenic Highway near Lake Wales, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway around 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The vehicle then name contact with a utility pole causing it to roll over.
Chassity Nicole Albury, 34, of Lake Wales, and three children, were transported to area hospitals in unknown condition.
Caperilla, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
