JACKSON, MS. (THECOUNT) — Anthony Blackmore, of Jackson, Mississippi, has been identified as the victim in a fatal early Friday shooting in the capital city.
“Tony” Blackmore, 32, was fatally shot after midnight at Chuk Stop Car Wash in Jackson. John Henry McCray IV, 19, was later taken into custody and charged with murder.
According to Jackson Police, officers responded to a call of shots fired in the 3200 block of John R. Lynch Street around midnight Friday. When they arrived, officials found Blackmore suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. He was later pronounced dead.
McCray had fled the scene but was later located and arrested.
A firearm was recovered at the scene.
The investigation into the deadly incident remains open and active.
