ANDERSON COUNTY, SC. (THECOUNT) — Jon Griffin Peters of Seneca, South Carolina, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Monday afternoon two-vehicle crash in Anderson County.
Peters, 17, was killed in a head-on crash in Anderson Monday afternoon.
According to South Carolina Highway Patrol, Peters was operating an SUV on Shirley Store Road at U.S. 76 in Anderson, when the SUV came into head-on contact with a pickup truck around 1:20 p.m. Monday.
Peters was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma.
The driver of the pickup truck was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. A passenger riding in the pickup truck was also transported to the hospital with unknown injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
