WAUCONDA, IL. (THECOUNT) — Montana Brown, of Gurnee, Illinois, and Kyle DeKruif, of Island Lake, Illinois, have been identified as the victims in a double-fatal crash in Wauconda Thursday.
Brown, 24, and DeKruif, 25, were both killed in a two-vehicle head-on crash involving a delivery truck in Wauconda Thursday.
According to reports, DeKruif was operating a Honda Odyssey traveling the wrong-way on Route 12 when it collided head-on with a delivery truck near Route 59 in Wauconda around about 2:15 a.m.
DeKruif and his passenger Brown were both killed in the Odyssey.
The driver of the delivery truck suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
