RIVA, MD. (THECOUNT) — Zakary Hubbard of Annapolis, Maryland, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash Monday night in Riva.

According to Anne Arundel County officials, Hubbard was operating a GMC Yukon on Riva Road near Beards Point Rd in Riva, around 9:30 p.m., when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines in a curve and exited the roadway. The vehicle then made contact with an embankment before colliding with a substantial tree and overturning.

Hubbard was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

He was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
