CROMWELL, CT. (THECOUNT) — Chloe Russell, of Middletown, Connecticut, has been identified as one of two teenage victims killed in a single-vehicle crash in Cromwell Monday night.

Russell, 16, was killed along with another unidentified female in a single-vehicle Cromwell crash Monday night.

Russell and the other victim were traveling as passengers on CT-9 in a pickup truck operated by 18-year-old Tavien Desean Harris, when for unknown reasons, the Toyota Tacoma crossed centerlines and exited the roadway Monday night.

The vehicle then rolled over ejecting both female passengers.

Harris was hospitalized with unknown injuries.

One of the female victims was transported to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma.

The second victim was dragged by a passing vehicle for several hundred feet. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle then fled the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
