PHOENIX, AZ. (THECOUNT) — Cmdr. Gregory Scott Carnicle of Peoria, Arizona, has been identified as the Phoenix police commander shot and killed Sunday night.
Carnicle, 55, was killed and two other officers were wounded Sunday night after responding to a domestic violence call in Phoenix.
According to officials, Carnicle was on the scene of a domestic dispute between roommates when the suspect opened fire shortly after 7 p.m. Sunday in Phoenix.
Carnicle, a veteran officer and father of four, was killed.
The other officers, both females, were hospitalized in unknown condition, the department said.
The suspect was barricaded in the residence as of 10 p.m Sunday.
Carnicle is survived by his wife and four children.
