MENTONE, TX. (THECOUNT) — A magnitude 4.7 earthquake has struck near Mentone, Texas around 8:18 a.m. Pacific time Thursday morning. The 4.7 shaker was preceded by a smaller 3.8 earlier in the day, according to USGS.

There have been no reports of damage or injuries at this time.

The quake occurred about 50 miles from Carlsbad, New Mexico.
