HARTLAND, CT. (THECOUNT) — Longtime NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour driver Wade Cole, of Riverton, Connecticut, was killed in an accident at his home Sunday.
Cole, 67, who was also the First Selectman in the town of Hartland, CT, was found dead beneath a car he had been working on in his garage located at, 64 Robertsville Rd in Riverton.
Cole was in the midst of tackling the town’s response to the Coronavirus, was found dead Monday morning, reports Rep-AM.
Cole, who lived in Hartland, owned a garage nearby in Riverton, which is a village within the town of Barkhamsted, where he often spent his free time working on race cars.
Cole was found at 4:30 a.m. Monday beneath a car after his wife asked a friend to check on him.
A cause of death was not provided by officials.
