LAFAYETTE, LA. (THECOUNT) — Paul Attwood, of Lafayette, Louisiana, has been identified as the victim in a fatal bicycle-versus-vehicle crash Thursday evening.
Attwood, 54, was killed after being struck by a vehicle while riding his bike in Lafayette Thursday evening.
According to officials, Attwood was operating a bicycle in the 1600 block of Surrey Street around 7:30 Thursday evening when he was struck from behind by a vehicle.
Attwood was transported to an area local hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma injuries.
According to police, the driver of the vehicle was not injured and alcohol did not play a factor in the crash, reports KATC.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
