LAWRENCE COUNTY, MO. (THECOUNT) — Richard Guthrie of Branson, Missouri, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash in Lawrence County on Tuesday.
“Rich” Guthrie, 72, was killed Tuesday in a head-on two-vehicle crash in Lawrence County on Tuesday morning.
According to reports, Guthrie was operating a Toyota RAV4 on Highway 96 near Halltown, when his vehicle collided with a GMC pickup truck head-on around 9:30 a.m. It is unknown why the GMC crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes.
Guthrie was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma. His wife, Linda, who was traveling as a passenger was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.
The pickup truck driver suffered unknown injuries.
The report says all three individuals were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the violent crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
