COLLIER COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Hubert Burey of Florida, has been identified as the victim in a double-fatal motorcycle crash in the Big Cypress National Preserve in Collier County on Sunday afternoon.
Burey, 42, and another individual, were killed after their motorcycle made contact with a pickup truck in Big Cypress on Sunday.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Burey, 42, was operating a motorcycle with a passenger at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Burns Road when the fatal crash occurred.
Brian Marshall Jones, 43 of Ochopee, was operating a National Park Service law enforcement branded Dodge Ram when he pulled in front of the motorcycle while traveling east on U.S. 41, according to troopers.
Burey and his passenger were transported to area hospitals where they were both pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
His passenger has not yet been identified by authorities because next of kin notification is pending, reports NaplesNews.
The pickup had a trailer attached and was a National Park Service law enforcement vehicle, according to FHP.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
