CHILLICOTHE, OH. (THECOUNT) — William Ambos, of Chillicothe, OH, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle Wednesday night.
Ambos, 61, was struck and killed by a vehicle traveling near Chillicothe VA Medical Center on Wednesday night around 10 p.m.
Officials say, Ambos was on-foot in the area of Ohio 104 South near the Ross Correctional Institution, when he was fatally struck by a GMC Sierra, operated by Robert C. Lurty, 52, of Chillicothe.
Ambos was pronounced deceased at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
Lurty was not hurt in the collision.
Union Township Fire and EMS, VA Fire Department, and the VA Police Department were on scene, reports ChillicotheGazette.
The crash remains under investigation.
