TEHRAN, IRAN. (THECOUNT) — At least 19 people are dead and scores more injured after a bus plunged off a mountain road into a ravine in northern Iran Thursday, local news agencies reported.
24 people were injured in the northern Iran bus crash which occurred Thursday before dawn.
According to officials, brake failure is to blame for the crash which occurred in Mazandaran province, about 90 miles northeast of Tehran, official news agency IRNA said.
The bus was travelling between the capital and Gonbad-e-Kavous, a historic town near Turkmenistan renowned for its 11th-century brick tower, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, reports urdupoint.
