MIDLAND COUNTY, TX. (THECOUNT) — Fernando Munoz, of Odessa, Texas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal single-vehicle crash near Midland on Sunday.

Munoz, 25, was killed in a pickup truck crash south of Midland on Sunday.

According to DPS, troopers responded to County Road 1232 one mile south of Midland at 4:20 a.m. on a reports of a vehicle crash. When they arrived, deputies discovered a Dodge Ram 1500 wrecked.

Officials determined that Munoz’s truck, for unknown reasons, crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. It then entered a culvert causing it to roll over.

Munoz was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

A preliminary investigation of the crash revealed that the truck was traveling south on CR 1232. According to DPS, the truck left the roadway and rolled, reports CBS7.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
