YAZOO CITY, MS. (THECOUNT) — Shea Erica Parker, of Yazoo City, Mississippi, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck by a vehicle.
Parker, 39, was killed while on-foot after being struck by a vehicle on Highway 49 in Yazoo City.
The Yazoo County Sheriff’s Department say, officers responded to a call of a vehicle-versus-deer. When police arrived, they determined that it was instead a person that had been struck.
Officials believe that Parker was walking northbound in the right lane of Highway 49 when she was struck by a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer, reports WLBT.
Parker was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma.
The incident remains under investigation by Mississippi Highway Patrol.
