Bangor ME Mourns Death Of Former Fire Chief Jeffrey Cammack

BANGOR, ME. (THECOUNT) — Bangor firefighters are mourning after learning of the passing for former fire department chief, Jeffrey Cammack.

Cammack, who was 62, served as a city firefighter for more than three decades. Half of that as the department’s Chief.

A former department Chief passed away after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Cammack was Bangor’s Chief for 16 years.

Cammack retired in 2012 at the age of 55, reports WABI.

The City of Bangor Fire Department sadly announces the passing of retired Fire Chief Jeffrey Cammack on December 29, 2019.

Chief Cammack started his career with the Bangor Fire Department in 1979 and worked his way through the ranks to serve as Chief of Department from 1996 to 2012. After his retirement from Bangor, Cammack went on to serve as the Executive Director and legislative advocate for the Maine Fire Chiefs’ Association.

Chief Cammack will be long remembered for his dedication to the fire service.

Funeral arrangements are pending.
