HARTFORD, CT. (THECOUNT) — Christian Cruz of New Britain , CT, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Hartford single-vehicle crash early Saturday morning.

Cruz, 18, was killed in a crash on I-84 in Hartford early Saturday morning.

According to police, they responded to a call of a single-vehicle crash on I-84 westbound near Exit 48 around 1:10 a.m. When they arrived, officials learned Cruz was operating a vehicle, when for unknown reasons, he lost control and exited the roadway. The vehicle then collided with a center median jersey barrier, said police.

Cruz was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

An unidentified passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital, reports CBSLocal.
