SAN ANTONIO, TX. (THECOUNT) — Gabriela Rodriguez has been identified as the 8-month pregnant woman shot dead outside her San Antonio residence on Christmas.

Rodriguez, 24, was reportedly shot dead by her ex-boyfriend Wednesday while her young children were inside the home, according to police.

San Antonio Police say, Rodriguez was fatally shot by her ex-boyfriend and the father of her two young children inside a home in the 11300 block of Candle Park just after 3 p.m.

Authorities confirmed Rodriguez was 33 weeks pregnant and less than one month away from her due date.

She was killed while her 2-year-old and 6-year-old children were inside the home. Her baby did not survive the shooting, reports ABC6OnYourSide.

The woman’s new boyfriend heard the gunshots and called police. After fatally shooting the mother police said the 27-year-old shot himself.

The suspect, who has not been identified by police, is being treated at an area hospital and is listed in “extremely bad condition.”

Investigators said the suspect had a criminal history.
