NJ Man ‘Ahmed A-Hady’ Arrested ‘Phone Number Found In Pocket’ Of Deceased Jersey City Shooter

JERSEY CITY, NJ. (THECOUNT) — Ahmed A-Hady of Keyport, has been arrested after he was found with a number of weapons and ammunition in the ongoing probe of the shooting deaths of six people in Jersey City, U.S. Attorney Craig Carpenito announced this weekend.

A-Hady, 35, was arrested after a handwritten note with his phone number was found in one of the shooter’s pants, according to a release from Carpenito’s office, reports patch.

During the search of his pawnshop, law enforcement recovered six rifles, including three AR-15-style assault rifles, three handguns and one shotgun, according to the release.

Th search of a pawn shop and residence was connected to what Gov. Phil Murphy called a “hate crime.” A police officer, three civilians and the two shooters were killed.

Two victims from Tuesday’s deadly Jersey City shootout have been identified as Leah Minda Ferencz and Moshe Deutsh.

Ferencz and her husband owned the JC Kosher Supermarket that had been targeted in the shooting Tuesday and was there when the shootout occurred.
