Jack Moon Who Lost Ottawa Home In Sunday Blaze Killed In Wednesday Vehicle Crash

BROCKVILLE, ON. (THECOUNT) — Ottawa man, Jack Moon, has been identified as the victim killed in a Wednesday vehicle crash near Brockville, according to multiple reports.

Moon, 33, was tragically killed in a Wednesday crash after losing his Gananoque-area home in a Sunday blaze. The fire killed multiple family pets.

The multi-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 401 near Brockville Wednesday.

Moon was the only fatality in the crash which occurred during a snow squall, according to GlobalNews.

GlobalNews wrote of the fire and interviewed Moon:

“[Moon] has three young children, and one on the way, but no one was home during the fire. Moon, who spoke with Global News outside his home on Monday, said his mother also lived at the home, along with three dogs and two cats. The dogs were saved, but Moon says they still have not been able to locate the cats,” reported GlobalNews.

According to a post on Moon’s Facebook page, he travelled to Ottawa on Wednesday to get a passport, but was unsuccessful in doing so. It’s possible he was driving back towards Kingston when he was involved in the fatal crash.
