ROCKY HILL, CT. (THECOUNT) — WFSB is reporting longtime Connecticut news anchor, Denise D’Ascenzo, has died suddenly, according to local reports.
Dennis House appeared on-air Saturday night to report D’Ascenzo had died earlier in the day Saturday.
“It was a sudden and unexpected death, and the grief we are all feeling is immeasurable,” House said while fighting back tears. “We are devastated for her husband and daughter, who were really her whole life,” WFSB
A cause of death was not provided as of Saturday night.
D’Ascenzo joined WFSB in 1986 and was the station’s longest-serving anchor, House said.
