TAYLOR COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — John David Wilson, of Perry, Florida, has been identified as the victim in a fatal vehicle crash in Taylor County on Sunday, according to Monday reports.

Wilson, 38, was killed in an accident that occurred Sunday morning around 10:30 a.m. near his Sarah Lane home in Perry.

According to FHP, Wilson was operating a Chevrolet Silverado traveling on Sarah Lane, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway near JJ Blue Road.

The vehicle then struck a large oak tree and came to a rest after making contact a metal fence.

Troopers say the car overturned onto its roof and the driver was partially ejected, reports WTXL.

Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

FHP says Wilson was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the violent crash.

Authorities are investigating to determine whether alcohol was a factor during the crash.
