PHILADELPHIA, PA. (THECOUNT) — Shoni Sanders has been identified as the victim shot dead while opening her front door Thursday night in West Philadelphia, according to reports.
Sanders, 22, died after she was shot while answering the door on Thursday night in West Philadelphia, according to police.
It fatal shooting occurred around 7:10 p.m. on the 5800 block of Walton Avenue, reports 6ABC.
Sanders was shot once in her chest upon opening the door by an unknown assailant for unknown reasons.
She was transported code 3 to an area hospital where she was later pronounced dead of gunshot injuries.
Acting Philadelphia Police Commissioner Christine Coulter said Sanders appeared to have been the intended target.
Anyone with possible information on the deadly incident should contact police at 911.
