WAYCROSS, GA. (THECOUNT) — A man has died after opening fire inside the Waycross, Georgia, Walmart on Saturday morning. The man then turned the gun on himself, according to reports.
Police say, officers responded to the Walmart at 2425 Memorial Dr. to report of an active shooter incident at approximately 1 a.m. Police say the man went into the store and shop multiple times.
Officials with the Waycross Police Department says all Walmart employees and customers are safe.
The officers entered the store and begin searching for the suspect, who was located in seconds. Police say at that point, he turned the gun on himself, reports FirstCoastNews.
The unidentified man was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of self-inflicted gunshot injuries.
