PHILADELPHIA, PA. (THECOUNT) — An 11-month-old Philadelphia boy is in critical condition after being shot four times while seated in a vehicle near Hunting Park Saturday night, according to reports.

The toddler was inside a vehicle with his stepmother near the 700 block of West Luzerne Street around 7:15 p.m. when shots rang out Saturday night, striking the boy four times, including once in the back of the head, according to officials.

The step-mother reportedly did not know the child was struck until she drove a short distance away from the shooting scene, reports Fox29.

Police say the child was struck once in the back of the head, once in the chest and twice in the buttocks.

A motive in the shooting is unknown.

Officials are yet to provide any suspect information.
