GREENVILLE, SC. (THECOUNT) — Hector Ruiz De La Cruz has been identified as one of three victims in a triple-fatal two-vehicle collision Saturday night near the Furman University Golf Club.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office is investigating a collision that occurred Saturday evening near Furman University, located on 400 N Hwy 25 Bypass, in Greenville, SC. The incident left three people dead.

Investigators say, De La Cruz was an unrestrained passenger in the back of a Toyota Corolla, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing traffic.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

South Carolina Highway Patrol’s live collision tracker website indicates the collision on White Horse Road unfolded around 5:30 p.m., near the intersection with Duncan Chapel Road. The coroner’s office confirmed their response to the scene just before 7:50 p.m., reports FoxCarolina.

Officials said three people had passed away as a result of the accident.

The names of the other two people who passed away are still pending.

SCHP and the Coroner’s Office are still investigating the collision.
