HOUSTON, TX. (THECOUNT) — Forrest Magee has been identified as the native Houstonian and long-time Astros fan who went instantly viral after his reaction to a play during Game 4 of the ALCS was caught on network cameras.
Magee, 26, is speaking out for the first time since his reaction to a Zack Greinke walked in run during Game 4 of the ALCS quickly went viral on social media.
The clip may have gone instantly viral, but Mcgee didn’t have a clue of his newfound fame until he was asked for a picture from an Astros fan while visiting the ballpark restroom.
He then turned his phone back on and was bombarded with a viral tsunami of social media Likes and mostly positive fan reactions.
Magee said as he was walking out of the bathroom during the seventh inning, an Astros fan asked to take a picture with him after seeing Magee’s face all over social media. Magee obliged.
“It’s been surreal,” said Magee. “To me, I was just watching a baseball game, supporting our guys,” reports ABC13.
“(He said) ‘You’re just a very enthusiastic fan and I just want a picture with you,'” said Magee.
No doubt Magee has been asked for lots of photos and maybe even an autograph or two since his Field of Dreams style overnight success.
