COLUMBUS, OH. (THECOUNT) — Matthew Smith has been identified as the victim killed in a Columbus, Ohio motorcycle crash Wednesday, according to reports.
Smith, 35, died after a motorcycle he was operating crashed in Columbus on Wednesday.
Columbus police say, they responded to a call of a motorcycle crash near Williams Road & Groveport Road, Columbus, OH on Wednesday evening. Police arrived in the 1800 block of Williams Road, between Groveport Road and Alum Creek Drive, around 5:40 p.m., reports 10TV.
Smith was located injured.
Officials determined that Smith was operating a Suzuki GSX-R1000 motorcycle on Williams Road at Speedway Lane when he collided with another vehicle who was attempting to enter Williams Road from a private drive.
Smith was ejected from the motorcycle during the violent collision.
He was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
