MN Rep Ilhan Omar Files For Divorce From Ahmed Hirsi ‘Second Time’

WASHINGTON, DC. (THECOUNT) — Minnesota Congresswoman Rep Ilhan Omar is heading for splitsville with her husband Ahmed Hirsi, for the second time, TMZ is reporting Monday morning.

The freshman Representative — and member of the so-called “Squad” — filed for divorce Friday in Minnesota from her husband, Hirsi, who is also the father of her 3 kids. It adds another layer to her complicated history with Hirsi.

Omar reportedly married him in a religious ceremony in 2002 … but the union was not recognized legally. The couple had 2 children together, but separated in 2008.

WASHINGTON, DC. (THECOUNT) — Newly released information claims to bolster rumors Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar married her own brother in what many believe was in an effort to skirt United States Immigration laws.

“David Steinberg spent a decade as PJ Media’s New York editor. He has been closely investigating Ilhan Omar’s background for years since she entered public life,” he said.

“He’s cultivated sources within the Minnesota Somali community. He knows as much about Omar’s background as any reporter could know.

“Very few are interested, but he’s deeply interested and he should be. Just this morning, Steinberg released a piece on Power Line. In that piece he repeats the claim that Omar married her biological brother.”

“And then he makes this stunning allegation, sourced to members of the Minneapolis Somali community: ‘In 1995 Ilhan entered the United States as a fraudulent member of the Omar family. That is not her family.

“’The Omar family is a second unrelated family which was being granted asylum by the United States. The Omars allowed Ilhan, her genetic sister Sahra, and her genetic father Nur Said to use false names to apply for asylum as members of the Omar family.

“’Ilhan’s genetic family split up at this time. Ilhan’s three other siblings, using their real names, managed to get asylum in the United Kingdom.’”

“Steinberg goes on to say Ilhan’s brother was one of those three siblings and that she was later legally married to this man, her biological brother, from 2009 until 2017,” he said.

“It’s a shocking claim, so far it is unproven. Omar has denied the story, but she hasn’t disproven it. The Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Omar’s local newspaper responsible for a lot of fawning coverage about Omar, has tried to investigate the matter.

Many call the claims false claiming the assertion is simply an attack on Omar similar to the Obama “birther” controversy.
