FORT WAYNE, IN. (THECOUNT) — Marcus Clopton, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, has been identified as the pedestrian struck and killed while chasing a basketball into an Interstate roadway, according to reports.
Clopton, 36, was killed after being struck by a vehicle after reportedly darting out on to I-69 to retrieve a basketball.
The deadly collision occurred before 3 p.m. Wednesday near the Coldwater Road exit on Interstate 69.
Clopton was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of blunt force trauma.
His death has been ruled an accident.
