Eddie Money Dead At 70

LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — Singer and songwriter, Eddie Money, whose songs “Baby Hold On,” “Two Tickets to Paradise,” “Shakin’” and “Take Me Home Tonight” soundtracked popular music in the 1980s, died Friday (Sept. 13). He was 70.

A statement provided by his family reads: “The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our loving husband and father. We cannot imagine our world without him. We are grateful that he will live on forever through his music.”

“Two Tickets To Paradise” singer, Money, recently revealed his battle with stage 4 esophageal cancer, TMZ is reporting.

The “Take Me Home Tonight” rocker will make the stunning announcement during season 2 of his reality show, “Real Money,” according to sources connected to the show.

TMZ says that Money got the bad news late last year, during a regularly scheduled checkup with his doctor.

The cancer started in Eddie’s esophagus but, sadly, it spread to other parts of his body. You can see in this clip, he’s determined to keep his loved ones in the loop as he deals with the diagnosis. We’re told Eddie didn’t take a break from shooting his family’s show after getting the news — and he’s continued touring almost nonstop while getting treatment, reports TMZ.

Money was forced to take a break from the road for other health issues following undergoing a minor heart valve procedure in May. He suffered a bout with pneumonia in July.
