According to authorities, Williams was arrested after apparently shooting and killing Ruffer following a verbal altercation Friday afternoon.

Deputies responded to 3619 Almondwood Dr, in Spring, TX, around 4:45 p.m. Friday on reports of shots fired.

When they arrived, Ruffer was found inside his home suffering from fatal gunshot injuries.

According to witnesses, Ruffer was in the flooring business. Williams was his neighbor and he worked for Ruffer until an argument Friday morning ended with Ruffer firing Williams, according to Click2Houston.

During the investigation, deputies learned Williams – who was known to be armed and dangerous, was out on bond for aggravated assault and was residing at a family member’s home in east Houston.

A family member agreed to transport Williams to the Sheriff’s Office to be interviewed. Authorities were informed that Williams was in possession of the possible murder weapon, deputies said.

While en route to the police department, the family member said Williams brandished a second pistol – forcing the family member to pull over and contact authorities, according to reports.

After an hour and a half standoff, authorities were able to take Williams into custody.

It is unclear if Williams had some sort of grievance with Ruffer as that information was not provided by officials.

Murder charges are pending.
