LAWRENCE COUNTY, SD. (THECOUNT) — Debra Milota, of Springfield, Nebraska, has been identified as the victim in a motorcycle-versus-motorcycle head-on collision while participating in the Sturgis motorcycle rally on Tuesday, according to officials.

Milota, 59, died from her injuries in an area hospital on Friday, South Dakota officials said Saturday.

Milota was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle on U.S. 14A west of Lead Tuesday afternoon when she failed to negotiate a curve and crossed the centerlines. The motorcycle then traveled into the path of another motorcycle carrying two individuals.

The two bikes collided and all of the riders were thrown during the violent collision.

Milota was transported to an area hospital where she passed away from her injuries on Friday.

The other two riders suffered minor injuries.

The incident report noted all riders were helmited at the time of the collision.
