AL Man Tanner Hamilton ID’d As Victim In Wednesday Night Rogersville Fatal Motorcycle Collision

LAUDERDALE COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — Tanner Dale Hamilton, of Florence, Alabama, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Wednesday night motorcycle crash in Lauderdale County.

Hamilton, 23, was killed in a motorcycle-versus-vehicle crash near Rogersville Wednesday night.

According to reports, Hamilton was operating a Honda CBR 1000, when the bike came into contact with a Toyota Camry on US-72 near CR-113 Wednesday night around 6:30 p.m.

The operator of the Camry was not injured in the collision.

Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

KS Woman Tammy Carter ID’d As Victim In Friday Richland Fatal Head-On Crash

FORD COUNTY, KS. (THECOUNT) — Tammy Sue Carter, of Ensign, Kansas, has been identified as the victim in a fatal head-on vehicle crash in Ford County Friday afternoon.

Carter, 52, was killed in a Friday afternoon head-on crash involving a big-rig near Richland.

According to reports, Carter was operating a Kia Sedona on U.S. 56 & McArtor Road in Richland, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and into opposing lanes around 2:30 Friday. The vehicle then came into contact with a Western Star semi-truck operated by 37-year-old Jefferson Lionel Waker, of Garden City.

Carter was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

Walker was not injured in the violent collision.

According to the crash report, Carter was not wearing a seatbelt.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

OH Man Jesse Cutcher ID’d As Victim In Friday Fatal Wood County Crash

WOOD COUNTY, OH. (THECOUNT) — Jesse Cutcher, of Gibsonburg, OH, has been identified as the victim in a two-vehicle crash in Wood County, Ohio Friday morning.

Cutcher, 29, was killed in a Wood County crash Friday morning that also injured another person.

According to reports, Cutcher was operating a Chevy Cavalier on US-20 near near Lemoyne Rd, when a Chevy pickup truck crossed centerlines and collided with the Cavalier around 6:30 a.m. Friday.

The driver of the Chevrolet 2500 pickup truck has been identified as Christopher L. Kugler, 22, of Carrollton.

Cutcher was pronounced dead at the scene of blunt force trauma.

Kugler was transported to Bay Park Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, reports WTOL.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

FL Man Herb Burey ID’d As Victim In Sunday Double-Fatal Big Cypress Motorcycle Crash

COLLIER COUNTY, FL. (THECOUNT) — Hubert Burey of Florida, has been identified as the victim in a double-fatal motorcycle crash in the Big Cypress National Preserve in Collier County on Sunday afternoon.

Burey, 42, and another individual, were killed after their motorcycle made contact with a pickup truck in Big Cypress on Sunday.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Burey, 42, was operating a motorcycle with a passenger at the intersection of U.S. 41 and Burns Road when the fatal crash occurred.

Brian Marshall Jones, 43 of Ochopee, was operating a National Park Service law enforcement branded Dodge Ram when he pulled in front of the motorcycle while traveling east on U.S. 41, according to troopers.

Burey and his passenger were transported to area hospitals where they were both pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

His passenger has not yet been identified by authorities because next of kin notification is pending, reports NaplesNews.

The pickup had a trailer attached and was a National Park Service law enforcement vehicle, according to FHP.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

ALEXANDRIA, LA. (THECOUNT) — Hoang Thai Nguyen and Le Bui Chatelain have been identified as the victims in an early Friday morning single-vehicle crash.

Nguyen, 43, and Chatelain, 40, both from Avoyelles Parish, died in a single-vehicle crash Friday around 1:30 a.m., according to Louisiana State Police.

According to reports, Nguyen was operating a Nissan traveling on Highway 71, south of Alexandria, when for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed centerlines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then struck a substantial tree before coming to a rest.

Neither victim was wearing a seatbelt, reports TheTownTalk.

Both Marksville residents were transported to area hospitals where they were pronounced dead, according to the release.

MS Man Erik Miller Jr ID’d As Victim In Hazelhurst Fatal Christmas Night Crash Involving Mercedes

COPIAH COUNTY, MS. (THECOUNT) — Erik G. Miller Jr., of Crystal Springs, Mississippi, has been identified as the victim in a fatal two-vehicle crash near Hazelhurst Christmas night.

Miller, 30, was killed in a crash on Wednesday night in Copiah County, according to the Mississippi Highway Patrol.

Police say, Miller was operating a Chevrolet Impala on Old Highway 51 near Hazelhurst, when he was sideswiped by a Mercedes who was attempting to pass around 9 p.m.

Preliminary reports indicated that a Mercedes sedan traveling northbound attempted to pass a Chevrolet Impala that was traveling in the same direction when the Mercedes sideswiped the Chevrolet, reports ClarionLedger.

Miller lost control of the Impala and collided with a substantial tree.

He was pronounced dead of blunt force trauma at the scene.

An autopsy has been requested in the investigation.

No further information on the Mercedes driver was provided.

It is unclear if anyone was cited at the scene.

MAULDEN, SC. (THECOUNT) — Jonathan Douglas Dowdle, of Gaffney, has been identified as the pedestrian fatally struck in Maulden, South Carolina on Friday night.

Dowdle, 38, was walking on US-276 near Pinehurst Drive when he was struck by a commercial truck around 9:51 p.m., the coroner’s office said on Saturday.

The Greenville County Coroner’s Office says they, along with the Mauldin Police Department, are investigating Dowdle’s death who was struck, and killed by a car Friday night. 

Dowdle was pronounced dead at the scene of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

His cause and manner of death are pending, awaiting an examination and further information.

NC Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy School Bus Crash Girls Volleyball Team On Board

MCDOWELL COUNTY, NC. (THECOUNT) — Rutherford County, NC, Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy girls volleyball team bus was involved in a serious crash Monday night, according to Tuesday reports.

The school bus crashed and traveled 30 feet down an embankment on Coxes Creek Mountain in McDowell County, according to the McDowell County Emergency Management.

The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. Monday on N.C. 226 near the intersection of U.S. 221, according to North Carolina Highway Patrol.

14 people were aboard the bus at the time of the violent crash, officials said.

The bus was carrying the high school girls’ volleyball team, Principal Dianna Bridges confirms in a statement. They were returning from a match at Mitchell High School.

Several players, two coaches and the bus driver were hurt, Bridges said.

All 14 were rescued from the bus and taken to three area hospitals.

None of the victims’ injuries appear to be life-threatening, officials said.

According to the school’s website Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy is a public charter school, offering a college-preparatory education to students in grades K–12.

Students from Rutherford, Cleveland, Polk, and McDowell counties currently attend, reports WYFF4.

NE Woman Debra Milota ID’d As Victim In Sturgis Rally Motorcycle-Vs-Motorcycle Head-On Crash

LAWRENCE COUNTY, SD. (THECOUNT) — Debra Milota, of Springfield, Nebraska, has been identified as the victim in a motorcycle-versus-motorcycle head-on collision while participating in the Sturgis motorcycle rally on Tuesday, according to officials.

Milota, 59, died from her injuries in an area hospital on Friday, South Dakota officials said Saturday.

Milota was operating a Harley Davidson motorcycle on U.S. 14A west of Lead Tuesday afternoon when she failed to negotiate a curve and crossed the centerlines. The motorcycle then traveled into the path of another motorcycle carrying two individuals.

The two bikes collided and all of the riders were thrown during the violent collision.

Milota was transported to an area hospital where she passed away from her injuries on Friday.

The other two riders suffered minor injuries.

The incident report noted all riders were helmited at the time of the collision.

$30,000 Up For Grabs After Dropped On US-31 Grand Haven MI ‘Cardboard Box Left On Bumper’

GRAND HAVEN, MI. (THECOUNT) — VIA Fox17Online: Traffic backed up on US-31 Thursday night when motorists started finding cash strewn across the roadway.

Grand Haven Public Safety Officers were called to US-31 south of Coho Drive just before 9:00 p.m. where people were stopping on the road to pick up the money. Officers temporarily closed the road while they and the motorists collected the cash.

Jeff Hawke, the Director of Public Safety, says that the owner of the money returned to the scene and says that he had accidentally left a cardboard box on the bumper of his truck containing $30,000. The owner told police that the box fell off his bumper while driving north on Beach Boulevard, sending the cash across the road, just south of the drawbridge.

Officers and witnesses picked up $2,470. Anyone that also picked up cash is asked to turn it in to the Grand Haven Department of Public Safety.

Hawke says that all the cash that was dropped on the road has been recovered and that no one should stop and walk around the area looking for more.
