DELMAR, MD. (THECOUNT) — David Lee Spence, of Delmar, Maryland, has been identified as the victim in a fatal motorcycle-versus-SUV collision Wednesday night on Route 54 in Delmar.

Spence, 37, was killed following a Wednesday night crash on Route 54 involving a Chevy SUV, state police said.

Troopers responded to reports of a vehicle collision after 7:00 p.m. on Route 54 near Rum Ridge Road in Delmar.

According to a news release from the Maryland State Police, the investigation determined the driver of a Chevrolet Silverado was attempting to perform a left turn into a residential driveway.

Spence’s Yamaha motorcycle failed to slow down and struck the rear of the Chevrolet truck, reports Delmarvanow.

The SUV driver, 40-year-old David Latimer Hudson, of Delmar, Delaware, was transported to an area hospital with unknown injuries.

Spence was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead of multiple blunt force trauma injuries.

The investigation into the cause of the crash remains open.
