IG Star Ray Diaz Arrested In San Diego On Sexual Assault Of Underage Female Friday

LOS ANGELES, CA. (THECOUNT) — Instagram star, Ray Diaz, was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault Friday, according to LAPD.

“Raymundo” Diaz, 33, was arrested in San Diego at 5 a.m. by LAPD elite, Robbery-Homicide Division, with assistance from San Diego police, reports KABC.

“We thank the public for their outpouring of concern regarding this case. We are better when we share the responsibility of making sure every member of our community is safe,” LAPD Chief Michel Moore tweeted.

“After a thorough investigation, LAPD Detectives from the elite Robbery-Homicide Division Special Assault Section arrested 33 yr old social media personality “Ray Diaz” for sexual assault in San Diego, CA, w/ the assistance of San Diego PD. Raymundo Diaz bail is set at $500,000.00, said LAPD officials Saturday.”

Media reports say an investigation began after videos surfaced that appeared to show Diaz assaulting an underage teen girl he was reported to have been dating.

Further details regarding the alleged assault were not provided.

On Thursday, LAPD said, “we are aware of several social media posts related to a social media personality, alleging physical abuse and sexual relations with a minor. We take these allegations seriously. Currently, the Department has directed a group of investigators to look into these allegations.”

Diaz, of Hollywood, CA, boasts an Instagram account with more than three million followers and has 304,000 subscribers on YouTube. He has also appeared on TV Land show, “Lopez.”

His bail was set at $500,000.
