RICHMOND, VT. (THECOUNT) — Furman Horton, of Morrisville, has been identified as the victim in a fatal Sunday crash in Richmond, Vermont, according to reports.

Horton, 62, was killed in a vehicle crash on Interstate 89 in Richmond Sunday evening, according to Vermont State Police.

Police say, Horton was operating a pickup truck, when for unknown reasons, he crossed center lines and exited the roadway. The vehicle then collided with an I-89 guardrail just before 7 p.m.

Troopers said Horton then crossed into the median and went across the northbound lanes before ending up along a rock ledge, reports MyNBC5.

Horton was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Road conditions, speed and impairment were determined not to be factors in the crash, according to troopers.

The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
