AL Dog Drags Home Man’s Head After Victim ‘Blown To Pieces’ Stealing Power Off Utility Pole

CALHOUN COUNTY, AL. (THECOUNT) — An Alabama resident got the shock of his life after his dog dragged home the skull of a man who had been literally blown to pieces while attempting to steal power from a high voltage line in Calhoun County.

The body of 56-year-old Randall Stephens was located underneath a utility pole after being electrocuted while trying to “steal power,” authorities said.

On Friday, a neighbor said he found what turned out to be Stephens’ skull in his driveway, reports wgauradio.

The neighbor told deputies his dogs apparently dragged it there, the television station reported..

Officials said the rest of Stephens’ body was located rotting at the base of a utility pole.

A ladder was leaning against the pole, along with climbing spikes and jumper cable handles, reports say.

The utility pole was located by Stephens’ residence.

“It appears Mr. Stephens was trying to jump power or steal power for his home, and apparently hit the wrong line or the wrong connection, and it killed him,” officials told the television station.

It is unknown exactly when the incident occurred, however, Stephens was released May 16 from the Calhoun County Jail, where he had been serving time on gun and drug charges.

Authorities believe he died shortly after his release from jail.
