GREENBELT, MD. (THECOUNT) — The wife of a popular Ghanaian actor was shot dead on Friday in Greenbelt, Maryland, by an unknown gunman.

44-year-old, Jennifer Bowie, the wife of actor, Chris Attoh, was shot in the head in the parking lot of a Greenbelt office building Friday by a man described as a black male.

Bowie has departed an office complex in the 6300 block of Ivy Lane and was walking to her car when a man armed with a handgun approached her and opened fire.

The Greenbelt Police Department said Bowie attempted to flee the scene, but the man followed her and fired off multiple rounds, with at least one shot striking her in the head.

The unknown suspect is described as black and having a thin build with black hair then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Bowie was pronounced dead of gunshot injuries after 5 p.m. Friday.

Co-workers said Bowie was working at a temporary staffing agency when she was killed.

Bowie married Attoh last year after the latter had divorced his Nigerian wife and fellow artiste, Damilola Adegbite, according to NewTelegraphng.
