KOSCIUSKO COUNTY, IN. (THECOUNT) — Thomas Schmeltz, of Bourbon, Indiana, has been identified as the body pulled from the Tippecanoe River on Wednesday. He was 65.
The Kosciusko County coroner confirmed a deceased male was found in the Tippecanoe River on Wednesday, May 8.
The preliminary cause of death has been determined to be drowning.
Around 3 p.m. on May 8, Indiana Conservation Officers located Schmeltz’s body in the Tippecanoe River in Kosciusko County near SR 10 and SR 19, reports InkFreeNews.
According to Facebook, Schmeltz was originally from Wakarusa, Indiana and worked at Crossmark. He attended Manchester University and Penn High School Mishawaka, IN.
