Wanted WA Man Mark Janke Left Behind Badly Injured Woman Who Fell From Moving Motorcycle In Moses Lake

MOSES LAKE, WA. (THECOUNT) — A manhunt is on in Moses Lake, Washington for Mark Janke, who police say, failed to stop a motorcycle he was operating after his female passenger fell off.

Janke, 46, was operating a motorcycle, when for unknown reasons, performed an erratic maneuver while traveling on East Broadway Avenue. The maneuver caused his female passenger to fall off the motorcycle early Friday morning. He then fled the scene leaving the badly injured woman bleeding in the street.

The unidentified female victim was airlifted to a hospital in Spokane with unknown blunt force trauma head and upper-body injuries.

Witnesses told officers, a pair of motorcycles were traveling together in the area after 1 a.m., when for unknown reasons, one bike lost control, ejecting the woman passenger. The driver, later identified as Jenke, fled the scene prior to officers arriving.

It is unclear if the other motorcycle remained at the scene.

Police have developed the theory that Janke was operating the motorcycle when the woman fell off. They went to his house to recover the bike. However, they haven’t been able to locate him, reports KHQ.

Janke wanted for vehicular assault and felony hit and run.

MLPD is looking for any public assistance in locating Janke on his whereabouts, encouraging anyone with information to call 762-1160 in reference case number 19ML05378.
